When he casts blizzard, come to the middle then move back out behind its path and avoid it as it circles the room clockwise. If you are freaked out and in the excitement can't remember which way a clock turns, just get to the middle and stay there till your vision clears up. Casters will probably be silenced while there, but HEY! At least they'll be alive!

When he suddenly sucks everyone to the middle and on his cast bar you SEE "Arcane Explosion", run IMMEDIATELY to a wall, and not a wall where Blizzard is headed, duh. If you fail to react to this immediately, you will die. With death.

When he casts Flame Wreathe, STOP MOVING, TURNING, ROTATING, JUMPING, SKIPPING, PLAYING PATTYCAKE, PICKING YOUR BUDDY'S NOSE, ETC. Stay completely still and attack from where you stand. When he starts the cast, you have about 2 seconds to get how you wanna be before all the above slappy behavior will kill us all. Plz don't kill us all, thanks.

If you are a warlock, offtank or healer, go down and read about your elemental time duty. Everyone else just concentrate on above.

Lastly, all mele dps will be rotating interrupts on his ice bolts and fire balls. You see, we need to kill him before his mana runs out or we all get polymorphed, then whacked for 7k. We can still beat him after that, it's just painful to come out of. So anyway, if you interrupt a fire ball or ice bolt, he didn't get to spend mana on it. When he casts Arcane Missiles, just let him do it, cause by the time he's DOING it, he already spent the mana to do it.

This fight is made easy by intense dps, coordinated interrupts from those dps, and a vigilant Warlock to handle the elemental spawn at 40%.

Lastly... AND THIS IS IMPORTANT...

Class tips

Druid

  • If you're going to use Rebirth, it's best to save it for either the warlock or for one of the melee players interrupting Aran. If you lose an interrupting player, damage to the party is increased significantly and thus healing. If you lose the warlock, you'll easily wipe to the elementals at 40%.
  • If your raid is unfortunate enough to experience a polymorph, being in treeform will make you immune. This could be bad if you aren't at full health for you may not survive the coming pyroblast. Swiftmend or NS a heal on yourself to get full health.
  • Although you should never have trouble running to the the wall during the arcane explosion (Even in tree form), shape-shifting will clear the movement slowing effect.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Hunter

  • Kill the elementals that aren't covered by the warlocks when he summons them.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Mage

  • Do NOT counterspell the Arcane Missiles. I know you can, but CSing them causes him to cast something else anyway. I would rather take an Arcane Missile than force an interrupt when it may not be ready.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Paladin

  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Priest

  • You will use alot of Renew and Prayer of Mending so you can keep moving while you cast.
  • Dispel the occasional "ice shackle" that Aran casts ASAP. Otherwise someone may get trapped in Blizzard.
  • Fear an elemental or two as often as possible. Start usually with the front right.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Rogue

  • Stick him. See above for details. Use Cloak of Shadows if you get a late start running from his Arcane Explosion - it'll clear his slow speed buff from you. You shouldn't need to bother if you are paying attention. The Rapscallion Boots drop for us from Aran. They are cool, but these are nothing to get really excited over. The Edgewalker Boots all rogues need come from Moroes, and are much better raid boots.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Shaman

  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Warlock

  • At 40% when Aran summons his elementals, banish one and keep the other feared for their duration. Continue dps on Aran.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.

Warrior

  • Wear DPS gear
  • Know your rotation in the interrupt rotation and call it out when you are interrupting
  • Sunder the crap out of him. He's squishy. No armor = more damage from the melee dps.
  • Pay attention and move when needed.
