Hydross is the first boss in Serpentshrine Cavern.

The tanks need high nature resist and frost resistance. This still needs work, mostly for leather and for the mixed tanks.

365 is the resistance cap against a lvl 73 mob. At 365, it is considered to be at a 75% average damage reduction (they will be resisting >=75% of the damage 80% of the time). Hydross hits for ~11,000 unresisted, so this should make the average damage about 2750. The way resistance works, the amount of damage actually resisted will fluctuate from full resists to no resist; so remember that this is average. No matter what, the tank will still have a 1% chance to take the full 11,000 hit.

I'm shooting for our OT's being between 200 and 250, which will put them between 40% and 50% damage reduction. With the current resistance I have on the mixed plate set the OT is at 48.9% reduction. An unresisted hit from the adds hits for ~6000, so that would on average be reduced to 3066.

Things for the tanks to consider when you're specing out your gear:

• Hydross deals magic melee damage, which can miss, be dodged, parried, partially resisted, but not blocked (so don't bother using Shield Block).
• He can also crit (but not deal crushing blows), so the two main tanks should wear resistance items, but still have enough defense to avoid crits.
• Even though he deals magic damage, it's still melee, so Demoralizing Shout/Curse of Weakness/etc do reduce his damage.
